Updated getBalance Endpoint for iOrder Consumption

As part of our work to provide a digital first loyalty offering, we are taking steps to streamline the integration between Loyalty and the White Label App. This is a key element of that work, as this updated endpoint will unlock the App's ability to display an updated and more valuable balance screen to guests. The highlight of this will be the ability to support the display of loyalty stamp cards in App, which will be available in the March 2025 version.

 

Set a Default Tier in a Loyalty Program

One of our strategic objectives for 2025 is to implement an 'automatic tier movement' functionality, allowing customers to provide a true tiered loyalty offering to their guests. The first step toward that deliverable is part of this release, as Loyalty users can now nominate a tier as the 'default' in their program. This is an extremely simple process, only requiring users to navigate to the Tiers section of their program and update the 'Is Default Tier?' flag to 'true' for the desired tier. There are no other changes at this point, but as the auto-tier movement functionality is developed, the default tier will become a critical part of that process as it will act as the 'starting point' for loyalty users when they join a program.

 

Some Key Points about default tiers:

• Only one tier can be set as default;

• A default tier cannot be deleted;

• Once set up, all newly registered users will land in the default tier
